The Lords Supper was affected by the divisions between rich and poor and an overall general misunderstanding. The individual leaders should only point them to Christ. What is a clique? What happens when you get a tear in a piece of clothing and you keep washing and wearing that piece of clothing with the tear in it? Their relationship to Christ was the unifying factor of the church. DIVISIONS IN THE CHURCH I Corinthians 1 In my opinion, this is one of the main reasons our churches are so split and why we act more like the world rather than more like Christ. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them; that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. We are all equally undeserving of salvation and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Faith rests on Gods shoulders alone- its not by our wisdom and ability (Polhill 237).
